WFTGA Conventions
The WFTGA holds a
biennial convention at which members can join in meaningful discussion to
resolve common issues. The most recent was in Cairo, Egypt in January
2007. Along with guides from other parts of Canada, four of our local CTGA of
Toronto members attended and one of them, our President, was an official delegate
for Canada to the delegates' meetings.
Next WFTGA
Convention
The next convention will
be held in Bali Indonesia in January 2009. The host city will be Cairo, Egypt. We will provide
a link to the full convention information when it is available.

and Dunblane (2003). One member attend the convention in Melbourne (2005).

Pre-Convention Tour, 1997
In 1997 the convention took place in our fellow Canadian city of Montréal.
CTGA of Toronto was honoured to host delegates to that convention
on the Toronto and Niagara Falls portions of their pre-convention tour. Delegates were welcomed to Toronto by our members and presented with
information on our city and mementoes of the occasion of their visit. They were
then escorted to the city's best known landmark, CN Tower. Following an information session
about the tower, they were treated to dinner in Horizons, its famous
revolving restaurant. A full-day tour to Niagara Falls was provided
with commentary by our members. The delegates were joined for lunch at Table
Rock Restaurant overlooking the famous falls by a representative of the
Niagara Parks Commission and the Mayor of the City of Niagara Falls. On their departure
day our guests were treated to a city tour of Toronto much like those
experienced by our regular tourists followed by a farewell luncheon at The
Hot House Café, a venue popular with tour companies. Twenty-two of our own
members were involved in staging these activities for our guests. CTGA of
Toronto was proud to be their hosts for a very brief portion of their visit
to Canada and the Montréal Convention of WFTGA.
